Rainy Day

I know we are obliged to grin and bear it but we had an all day rain yesterday and they say we have more coming in the next two days. When it rains in sunny South Texas it does not disappear quickly. The land beneath our feet was sea bottom in its past life so being mostly sand the water sits on top for a while before seeping to lower levels. This area has not seen these kinds of rain for nearly a year so they are very very happy...and we are happy for them.
The following is taken from a facebook posting of friends of ours from another park. I thought this phenomenon would be interesting to the folks up north, especially lineman.

Our power went off at 700am this morning and we just got it back at 530pm. According to news the terribly dry season caused the poles to be dry and insulators full of dust. During our storm this morning a number of poles caught fire. Of the 6000 without power only 3000 have been restored. I don't know what all our people depending on oxygen are doing.

It is forecast to be sunny and 79 by Tuesday and that is the way it goes here!
