We gather at Llano

Our Texas friends, the ones we met and bonded with at Snow Mountain Ranch, have gathered at Llano Texas. The guys will be playing golf and maybe the women on one day at least, but today the ladies are going to Marble Falls to the Brooks Outlet. They are familiar with it but it will be a new experience for me.

Yesterday Butch and I managed to get a walk in before our people arrived and I snapped a few pictures. We have been here on more than one occasion so it is possible they may look like ones you have seen before. They have had rain in this area so it is not nearly as dried up as last time. It is looking quite lush.

Back Pat and a Butt Kick

This morning I made notes on our trip south including problem areas, mileage, places to eat etc. Now I have done this before but then I did not have any ONE place that I put them. Or I would wait too long to record the info and then could not remember. Part of the problem with this is that often it is months between trips and I have many journals with this kind of info in them. So which journal is it? Well this time I made a folder and a document in Google Drive. How does that change things? It puts it in the cloud and thus onto any computer on which I can sign into my google account thus any computer with Internet access. I noticed this morning as I was doing this I didn't have to save it. When you make it, it is automatically saved. You can delete it however which I like because I am not fond of clutter. Also in Google Drive you have access to all documents offline as well as on.
The butt kick is because I didn't do it sooner.

Note to self- get all recipes especially family recipes I would hate to lose into Google Docs.

Llano Texas- Arrival

We are in Llano Texas. Arrived about 2:30 this afternoon. We are parked, paid and settled in. We went to the grocery store. Always a strange experience in different parts of the country. This area caters to hunters and a quick glance at the grocery store parking lot tells you that right off with all kinds of camouflaged items displayed for sale.
Our trip  down was fairly uneventful  with a few tense moments on I-820W where we were looking for an exit  onto I-30W a midst   an extreme amount of construction. A few tense miles but we got through it unscathed.
This is a pretty part of Texas. We came by the Baby Head Cemetery and I was reminded that I had been wrong as to the origin of it. I assumed it was a family name and where they buried their young when in fact it was an Indian who murdered a white settlers baby, beheading it and taking the head to the top of a nearby mountain which is named oddly enough Baby Head Mountain. We found this information the last time we visited this area and I could not remember if I had filled you in or not. Maybe you didn't want to be filled in about such a grisly act but then it is close to Halloween.
Butch is at the driving range trying to "fix" his game.

So excited!-still at Big Cabin

Sitting here at Big Cabin working on my Chromebook. I have been catching up with Word with Friends games. Chromebook has been perplexing me because it does not have the F keys on the top, While working on the word games the page would jump around and make it difficult to move the letters, So experimenting I found the key that is equivalent to the F-11 key. It is a square with little arrow marks in the upper left and lower right. When you touch that key it takes away the excess info at the top of the page and gives you more room to maneuver, same as the F-11 key on a Microsoft computer. This is good news and eliminates a frustration for me. Yippee!

Big Cabin

We are sitting in Big Cabin waiting room while they are working on our moho. As soon as they are finished we will be headed down bumpy old hwy 69 toward Texas. We will be overnighting in a rest area so doubt that wifi will be reliable so it will most likely be Thursday before you have new material on this site.

Downstream entry

Tuesday, October 22, 2013
We are at the Downstream casino and it is my usual time to be on the computer but here we have no internet, so I thought I would get a blog entry ready for the next time I will have internet and that should be at Big Cabin Diesel later this morning unless something has changed since we were there last.
I have some more pictures of the little ones. Little Leo is so hard to catch with a picture. I have one of him that will explain what happens. Remember when he was born and we all commented on how aware he was for a newborn? Well he is over 6 months old and nothing has changed in that regard. When the camera comes out his aware radar goes on overtime, he gives you a sober and studious look and you are left with a somber looking baby . If you do not catch him when he is distracted you may as well hang up the camera. It isn't often you need to trick a baby.
Our casino experience was good as casinos go. I like the machines here as they at least kick out enough to keep you interested. I lost $7 and it took over two hours to do that. Yes I was a winner at one time but didn't quit then. Butch won, I don't know, $15 or so, maybe more. Not enough to shout about but then when you consider we are staying here for free with electricity and water it is not a bad deal at all.
We will be at Big Cabin today and tonight getting our motorhome serviced and we will  plan to stay in the Welcome Center at Sherman Texas tomorrow night. No hook ups so it will be a boondocking experience. We do that infrequently.

See that sneaky little sideways look?
                                                                   Mom is here!

Todays Jaunt

Today we travel from Peculiar Park Place, Southeast Outer Road, Peculiar, MO to Downstream Casino Resort, 69300 E Nee Rd, Quapaw, OK a distance of 140 miles. So it is a casual travel day in familiar territory. We will be overnighting at the casino RV park at no cost before going to Big Cabin OK the next morning for servicing of the Motorhome. We had a great weekend with the wee ones and their parents and grandparents. The little ones will grow so much in the 6 months until we see them again.
Keeping posted...

Leo's Bathtime

Seems like an imbalance in wee one pictures? Keep in mind that there were a plethora of pics when Miss Elise was tiny. Now she is a big sister and very busy taking care of brother Leo
