Further south in Missouri

We arrived in Carthage Mo at the Coachlight RV Park a few minutes ago. Great WiFi here as well as very soft water; two of the very best reasons to be here. There are a couple more;one of our favorite places to eat is nearby(Sirloin Stockade) and it is the home place of our RV. It is also reasonably priced at $25 a night.
So the plans are to wash the RV and do laundry with the really soft water and I am defrosting the fridge. Later we will go to the Sirloin Stockade for a meal. All in all a great stop and one we make frequently.
We had a great time with great grand Elise, her parents and grandparents. We cannot get over how calm and easygoing she is while at the same time super alert. Everything catches her eye and she is very busy observing her world every waking moment. It was fun to make her acquaintance.
If they would give her floor freedom who knows where she would be. She crawls off a blanket in about 15 seconds.

Papa Gary with a sleepy Elise.

Dinner time!

Here we are...

Been getting to see the babe every evening and that is great. She is such a sweet little thing with a disposition that is unbelievable. I do not see how Amanda and Brad can get that lucky twice so if and when they decide to have another they best hold on to their hat!
We had a spaghetti supper at the Teeters with parts provided by the 3 different branches of the family. It worked out great and was delicious.
I put together a black and white cluster bracelet yesterday afternoon and gave it to Susan.
I did this while Butch played golf with Rob and and his friends from the area. We met Rob and Ronni at Thunder Bay and already we have made connections in another area. THAT is the best part of this lifestyle-meeting and making long term friends with people from all over the country. Linda and Howard say the people who choose the full time lifestyle are risk takers and we have found that is true.
Well some days are full of new and exciting things and some days are restful and some are catch up days but they are all great. I don't know what this one is just yet.
My lifelong friend Mickey will be coming to the Rio Grande Valley for awhile this Fall and Winter. I am excited about that. She will be staying in Rio Valley Estates because her sister Donna is in that park. The park is only a mile and two tenths from our park. It will be a very different and fun winter season for me with her so close. We have the kind of friendship where we can be apart for months or even years but when we are together it starts off automatically where we left off. We have lots of history together.
There were four of us in high school but one broke off early and we did not have much contact in our adult lives and then there were three. Jean, myself and  Mickey. Now there are only two...

Elise at 5 Months

She is such a happy baby and takes everything in stride...until you take her bottle away from her for burping purposes. And then you will hear a mighty roar.

Peculiar!

We have had much fun with the town name Peculiar (Missouri) over the years and we still do. For instance the Peculiar police cruised by here a few minutes ago. My beading friend Linda Payne said they had great fun with Flippin (Arkansas) once when they stayed there. She said the best one was the Flippin Baptist Church!
Our trip from Cutty's campground in Grimes IA to Peculiar was uneventful and those are always the best kind. I have had lots of positive feedback about the wedding pictures and everyone wants more. When I go to an event where there are professional photographers I try to get the shots they may not see. Also a person can get wrapped up in the camera end of things and essentially miss the fun of the event. I try not to do that. Hopefully Leo, Keri and Erin will provide me with more pictures and I will post them as they do.
So now we are in the land of dear great-granddaughter Elise of which we were in attendance of last evening. She is such a happy baby and cheerfully puts up with much jostling by grandparents. I hope to do some camera work on her later today.
We did go to a volleyball game that Grandpa Gary was refereeing and I did take a picture of him at work.
Gary is the one in the white shirt.
More later...

Erin and Greg's Wedding

October 16th, 2010. Erin & Greg's wedding day. Erin is Butch's brother Leo's daughter. Her wedding was one of the most beautiful I have ever attended. The attention to detail was stupendous. Everything about this wedding was perfect. Everything was beautiful-including the weather.
