I created this picture from ones I googled and saved. I tried to match what was in my minds eye on the "Day of the Dogs" while biking since there was no way to capture it with my camera. What you see is what made me laugh!

On Monday I finally was able to get a bike ride in to Panora and back. It was a Dog Day Morning! I went to Marv and Judi's to put their mail away before taking off on my ride and when I left Curly the dog decided to follow me. I tried to discourage him to no avail. I tried not to look at him but about a half mile down the trail I looked to my side and there was Curly carrying one of Marv's tennis shoes! I laughed out loud! It looked so funny to see him loping along with that shoe in his mouth. He dropped the shoe just short of one mile and finally turned around just short of two miles out. And then one mile from Panora I saw a man and his VERY LARGE dog on the trail. I rang my little bike bell to let them know of my approach. The dog stopped and went to his man's side and when next I looked the dog, a boxer was no where to be seen! I said "Good Morning" to the man and he said," He is scared to death of you." I looked to my right and hiding in the weeds was this big boxer and all I could see were those big brown eyes! Another laugh out loud moment!! When I returned to Yale I picked a cottage cheese container full of big fat juicy raspberries. It was a good morning!!
We went to the Jordan Creek Mall to listen to Pianopalooza (Tony Bonencamp and Jared Hall). We met many friends at Denise and Jack's place in West Des Moines prior to the performance. Denise and Jack put out a fine array of snacks for all of us.
