90 plus

Wednesday was 90 degrees plus and then it did not get above 61 or 62. Yikes! It is always difficult to deal with these wide mood swings of mother nature. In addition, it rained most of the night. Oh well, it tiz what it tiz.

Not much on my mind this morning other than getting things in order. Everything takes on a different tone as the park residents dwindle. So the slower pace gets slower. It is nice to have this time to get ready to travel on both ends. Last fall we were pushed and we found many small things we had forgotten to include in our departure plan. You don't mess with old people! We still get it right most of the time but we take longer in the process.

Hitchitch has begun. We are ready to get on with the next project up north and very much looking forward to a fun summer.

The last weeks...

The last few weeks we are in South Texas almost always are a hurry-up-and-wait situation or frantic as all get out. We are currently in the former situation. I am making lists and doing my best to try and remember all the loose ends that need binding. That part seems to be more of a challenge as the aging process grinds on.

The season at Trophy takes on a slower pace when April rolls around. With covid, it has been a slower pace all season. And those who know me well are aware I am okay with that. I think the whole world should slow down, take a deep breath and count to 4. Those who watch PBS regularly will know where that phrase came from.

Getting ready is both a physical and mental process. one of the physical aspects will be going through every cupboard and drawer and make sure the contents are road-ready. We need to do that both inside and out as well as in the car.  So that is where our minds have been going of late, getting ready for the big move.

As I look around the park a few folks leave every day. It has been a trickle since the first of March. We are always some of the last to depart. This comes after years of going home too early and putting up with winter weather far more than we want to. That has happened here far too often! We keep getting very cold days stuck in between several hot ones. The moderation is missing!

So now I am going to mosey down to the pool hall and see if there are any stragglers wanting to play a game. (ladies day)

Rain!!!

This is something we have not seen much of this season in South Texas. This bout of rain would be a mere sip to a water-starved area.

Out my window...

Dove Dilemma

I watched as this dove made numerous attempts to tackle the ball with seeds. As far as I know, it has been an unsuccessful endeavor.

"Come on, give a bird a break!"
