Slightly reflective

I cannot remember the last time it rained. I think it was sometime in December so I could say not since last year. We are supposed to get rain today and it may be in the form of severe thunderstorms. Rain in whatever form will be welcome. The air needs a good cleaning. We have had lots of wind, typical of Spring no matter where you are, I think. In the blowing of all things, the dirt, dust, and pollen in the air have been abundant and seemingly incessant. And bothering the heck out of me and my sinuses! Every time I go outside, it gets worse so a cleansing rain will be very welcome.

The end of the season is here and many people have already left. It has been a season of many changes. I think the mood of the country is one thing that does trickle down and it has been chaotic and unsettling on many levels. If things remain the same there is no light at the end of the tunnel...yet. So we are waiting to see what happens and then react to it in a way that works for us.

We are at a point here where the activities have slowed down so Butch and I have been hanging out more with each other and venturing outside the park to interesting places like HEB, Costco, Dairy Queen, Progreso Mexico and checking out other parks. We have been quite good at entertaining ourselves and each other for 59 years now.

12 more days here and then we will be slowly heading north. Sure wish we could see a warming trend up that way before we get to Iowa. It will be great reconnecting with family and old friends.
