Yesterday I did a quick run to Cooper on the bike trail. As I was coming back, less than a mile from the Jefferson Depot, I enjoyed a deer encounter. She was standing beside the trail and saw me first. She seemed to be trying to determine what I was. I understand her dilemna as I have had it myself on occasion. I slowed my pace to a crawl but continued to ride once I noticed her. She let me get within 10 feet before bolting. I somehow knew she wouldn't stick around for photos.
