Last June or July the Elks Club initiated a pool tournament. Butch entered and met up with "the guy who always wins" first off and lost to him. Then he met up with three opponents and won those matches. Then he comes up against "John Doe" and John is unable to play because he is in jail. So as far as we know John is still in jail but finally after much hesitation, they have disqualified him and the tournament can proceed. So tonight Butch will come up against the same fellow he played in the beginning. So say a little prayer for him...Butch, not the other guy.
Update: The other guy won. Butch took it down to the wire but then made 'an early season mistake', his words. He says his opponent is a very nice guy and every bit as good as the hotshot player Pierre, who ruled the roost last year in Trophy Gardens. So maybe next year...
He has been practicing some.
